Perform time studies on production jobs to develop staffing requirements and job assignments.Responsible for area layouts, including : equipment needed, tools required and material presentation in work station. Primary responsibilities included daily supervision of direct labor employees and assurance that departmental production goals are being met in accordance with the production schedule set forth by upper management. Tested validity of milling inserts used at a multi-spindle, multi-axis CNC milling / drilling machine with the possibility of increasing life of inserts and reducing cycle times, resulting in decreased cost per piece and increased productivity.Trouble shooting problems with manufacturing equipment (including stamping presses, robotic polishing machines, and CNC machining centers).Worked with production operators and supervisors in creating process instructions and set-up procedures for the Mikron Multi-Fast CNC machine in an effort to reduce set-up time during changeovers.

Worked with consultants from the Hunter Group changing current manufacturing process from a mass production facility into a kan-ban / auto replenishment facility. Tasks completed during the project included:Setting up assembly lines by grouping equipment and processes into lines according to functionality.Determining lot sizes for the production lines based on part variation and annual order quantities.Contacting material handling vendors and selecting material handling equipment to be used in the transportation, use and storage of semi-finished goods.Met with plant managers to discuss plant layout suggestions and to go over budget issues.Developed a plant layout for a new facility and delivered a presentation to the plant managers involved.Performed time studies on indirect labor personnel in the tool and die shop in an effort to report earned hours, set specific cost for the operations, and determine staffing requirements.Served as company representative for union grievances involving disputed time study rates.
