About Daniel Mattox

I am currently a PhD candidate at Dartmouth College in the Quantitative Biomedical Sciences program, where I am receiving formal training in bioinformatics, biostatistics, and epidemiology. In the Bailey-Kellogg lab, we develop models to aid in the design of experimental efforts and try to predict outcomes, then use the results of the experimental work to further refine and build on the models. My primary research focus is on using statistical and physical models of proteins and intermolecular interactions to design and alter those interactions to serve our purposes. My dissertation project is centered around capturing global trends in glycan-protein interactions from existing data sources and leveraging those statistical patterns to inform the design of next-generation antiviral biotherapeutics.http://dmattox.com/
