I am currently working on a confined space rescue team. I provide rescue services and equipment to safely extract injured and unconscious persons working in confined spaces. -Provide rescue support in IDLH environments-Set up and operate emergency retrieval systems, scba, medical trauma kits, and personal protection equipment-On standby monitoring all activities inside and outside the confined space to ensure safe entry and exitI am also currently working as a Resident Supervisor for Huntington residence at Laurentian university. With this job I manage a floor of students in an on campus residence.-Available for mental and emotional support with assist suicide prevention training-On call for any issue or first aid building wide-Plan, manage, and safely execute floor and building wide eventsI am a part of 2 Laurentian university first response teams:LUCERT: the Laurentian University Campus Emergency Response Team. In this position I am on call as a first responder for any campus emergency whether it’s physical, emotional, or mental. I am dispatched to provide the necessary first aid until paramedics can arrive to hand off to the next level of care. With this position I have my First Responder and BLS CPR Certification, with my EMR pending.LUMR: The Laurentian University Mine Rescue team. I have been a part of this team for three years now, becoming the Vice President and Director of Training for the team in May 2022. I was responsible for training our student competition team towards an International competition in Colorado, as well as district competitions in Sudbury with Ontario Mine Rescue for which I was the captain of the competition team. In this position I train students on the first response proceedures and techniques outlined by Ontario Mine Rescue for any mining and underground emergency. Over the summer of 2021 I was a wildland firefighter, tackling the wildfires throughout BC. I had 4 deployments totalling to 42 fire days gaining lots of transferable experience-Understand safety risks, and respond to incidents within the crew-Cut fuel free Lines with chainsaws-Safely conduct controlled burns using a drip torch-Set up and operate mark 3 and other water pump systems and hose lays-Operate charged hoses safely and efficiently-Patrol, seek, and extinguish fires, hotspots, and smokes-Line locating using GPS to flag potential guard around the fire -Mobilize and demobilize hoses and pumps
