I led web engineering at Button, building applications both for internal and external use, as well as the web-based SDK and necessary APIs for powering buttons on the mobile web. I also built a number of key services for powering analytics, audit trails, and driving SDK interactions. I spent a fair amount of time focused on CI / Deployment workflows as well.

Built a platform for ingesting granular health signals from a proprietary wearable device and creating a health event timeline. Designed and implemented an IPSec mesh for the production VPC to ensure encryption in transit of any health data. Scala / Kafka / Hbase / Samza.

Split time between consulting for other startups to bring new products to life and incubating our own ideas internally. Built Plover, a photo proofing app for wedding photographers to share, archive, and profit from their work (JS / Angular / Python / Django). Built real-time data visualizations of traffic flow to power decision making for major news organizations (CNN, NYT, etc). Led the architecture of a Google Closure based frontend framework for efficiently rendering canvas-based visualizations and consuming data from the backend. Built an on-page "heads up display" interface that rendered key data on top of client websites, allowing them to make decisions without needing to leave their site. I was also responsible for chartbeat.js, the snippet all of our customers loaded onto their pages on some of the biggest sites on the internet. Python / Django / JS / CSS.

Part of the Meetup Everywhere team, a secondary platform for creating global meetups backed by known brands. Worked on a handful of core client features following the launch, such as a revamped photo viewing experience.

Built and scaled our library of HTML/CSS templates that could be plugged into our drag-and-drop site builder. Implemented a large-scale redesign / rebrand from Freewebs to Webs.com. Led the client implementation of a spin-off rails project (contactme.com).
