I am a career focused individual who was fortunate to start in the medical device industry after graduating in 2011. With my father being an engineer and my mom being a nurse in the Cardiac ICU, it seems like a natural fit that I ended up as a biomedical engineer who inherently gravitated towards the realm of cardiac care. While I am not fortunate enough to provide patient care directly, I have taken pride over the years in offering the best possible service I can in cardiac EP (i.e. – making beautiful maps that pinpoint critical targets with a high degree of accuracy). I am grateful that I have worked alongside many world-renowned electrophysiologists who have mentored me along the way and provided a partnership from which I could learn and grow my skills, as well as my career. I made the choice in 2020 to take on a management role that blended medical sales with my technical abilities. The best way I found success in this role was to mentor my employees through procedural expertise and create product-specific familiarity. I found that the more technically savvy they were, the more successful we became. Amongst the individual members of my team, that expertise became contagious. For someone new to the employee management realm, it was impossible to not feel a sense of pride when I saw what my team had accomplished in such a short period. They had launched new technologies, encountered technical and personnel challenges, overcame all obstacles associated with a new management structure, and yet they still grew our market share in the process. In 2021 I took my management career one step further and was able to recruit my own team in a recently formed division of Abbott. I could not be more excited to directly witness my team develop and mold our organization into one that values technical expertise and competition, while keeping true to our central tenet of providing unrivaled patient care.
