CurrentWe design and manufacture embeded smart networked microcontrollers that interface into existing predator traps. Our modules give instant notifications when a trap has been set off. In a typical convservation estate all 200+ tarps would require 25km of walking to check each trap so this is typically done once a fortnight. With TrapNet a single person can check just the traps that have been triggered each day, saving valuable time and significantly increasing the productivity of the traps in the field. With our system it is not uncommon to see as many as 3 rats trapped in one day in a single trap.An a further benefit is the data is automatically collected into a datebase which is used to display to show long term trends and give valuable info on which traps are the most productivite and where reinvasion is coming fromBy utilising the latest technology and lean production techniques we are able to deply modules that are close to an order of magnitude cheaper than the competion, helping to ensure cost is not an impediment to acheiving our goals of Predator Free 2050
