CurrentIn this role I develop and implement process improvements for EDM hole drilling operations to reduce nonconformances and production turnaround time. Some major projects I've led include the following: 1. Designed and implemented an SPC database to capture machining data for the EDM cooling hole drilling of high-pressure turbine blades and integrated an automated feedback loop from inspection operations later in the manufacturing process.2. Pioneered technical on-the-job training requirements and a tiered machinist skills development system that was adopted and standardized company wide.3. Generated standardized operating procedures, work instructions, and technical guides for critical highprecision machining operations. 4. Leveraged Lean manufacturing principles including Kaizen events & DMAIC framework to perform root cause/8D analysis of defects & identify and address sources of waste in existing processes. 5. Established PFMEA and process maturity matrix for EDM department to continuously identify areas of improvement for the drilling process to reduce COPQ and improve turnaround time. 6. Automated First Article Inspection procedure to validate EDM machine setups to eliminate human factors in production cycles. 7. Performed regular internal process audits to ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 quality management system requirements. 8. Designed and modified tooling & gauging to increase reliability and repeatability of EDM hole drilling processes.
