I led communications for the country's #1 environmental law program, working alongside ten core faculty members and a team of fellows to advance climate law and policy solutions in Los Angeles, California, the U.S., and around the world. My work supported the Emmett Institute's hands-on training and mentorship for students, providing events and learning experiences for students and fostering a supportive network of alumni. Over four years, I helped improve UCLA Law's U.S. News & World Report ranking in environmental law (based on peer faculty scores) from #5 to #1 in the country. My work included expanding our media reach through interviews with top outlets and placements of expert commentary. I also led our email marketing, events, institutional messaging, and social media to better communicate our impact on environmental law and policy and support our students and alumni.

Co-led a team of four UCLA graduate students in the UCLA Innovation Challenge for sustainability, winning 1st place and a $15,000 prize with a business plan on applications for gene-edited kelp.As Co-VP for Impact Week 2021 with UCLA Anderson's Net Impact Chapter, co-led a team of five students in producing a weeklong public program on social and environmental impact. More than 1,300 participants joined 12 sessions with 27 speakers and moderators, including two members of Congress, chief sustainability officers for Nike and Netflix, and other high-profile speakers. Served as VP for FEMBA Relations, 2021-22, providing resources for FEMBA and EMBA students seeking careers in social impact. As Director of Admissions for UCLA Anderson's Alliance for Latinx Management at Anderson (ALMA), co-organized two admissions events for prospective and admitted Latinx students at UCLA Anderson. Served as Director of External Partnerships (2021-22), helping to organize and promote events featuring Anderson faculty and alumni.

I led communications for World Resources Institute's energy program from its inception as an offshoot of the climate program into a global initiative with a distinct identity and body of work. Reporting to the program's first director, Jennifer Layke, I worked with more than two dozen leading experts and staff to develop communications strategies that helped deliver on our efforts to improve energy efficiency in buildings, support large-scale renewable energy projects, and open access to electricity for under-served communities. Each of our projects had a global dimension, and I coordinated often with staff in China, India, Indonesia, and the United States to develop coherence in messages about our work in different geographies. In collaboration with our experts, I drafted and finalized editorial products, such as blog posts, op-eds, press releases, and presentations for publication on World Resources Institute's blog and on external outlets. I successful pitched international, national, local, and trade media outlets to earn coverage of our research. I also managed our engagement with audiences through a variety of online platforms: Pardot for email marketing; Drupal and Wordpress for websites; Vocus for media relations; and Twitter and Facebook for social media.

Starting as an intern in World Resources Institute's central communications department, I worked alongside the communications director and media relations officer to secure earned press coverage for leadership and top experts across our global programs. Over three years, I was promoted to media assistant and media relations lead. I worked on communications for many major initiatives, including Global Forest Watch, the New Climate Economy project, the Paris Agreement, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the Environmental Democracy Index, the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance, the Energy Transitions Commission, the Obama administration's Climate Action Plan and more. In this role, I collaborated with program directors, experts, and communications staff across our global institute to design strategies for communicating new research and program work to targeted external audiences. With a focus on media relations, I developed messages, created media lists, pitched reporters, organized briefings, and drafted and distributed a variety of press materials, including media advisories, press releases, and statements. For three years, I worked closely with WRI's president and CEO, Andrew Steer, program directors, and communications staff to develop the institute's "Stories to Watch" presentation. My contributions included writing, research, scheduling, image research and slide design, media engagement, and planning for the event, held at the National Press Club, in Washington, D.C.

For a part-time research project, I analyzed materials in the Nixon Presidential Library to investigate President Nixon's 1971 decision to commute the sentence of labor leader Jimmy Hoffa. I scrutinized hours of White House tape recordings to track the evolving outlook of President Nixon, his aides, and national labor leaders on a controversial executive decision.

Denver, Colorado

During the 2012 campaign cycle, I worked with a small team of field organizers in Adams County, Colorado, to recruit, manage, and train volunteers to support President Obama's re-election. Following a colleague's departure in October and a data system crash, I rebuilt our grassroots volunteer team for 22 precincts during the Get Out the Vote phase of the campaign. Our team delivered a victory for President Obama in Adams County by a margin of 17 percent.

Thornton, Colorado

During summer and fall 2012, I volunteered for the Obama campaign in Colorado by registering voters through door-to-door and local event canvassing. I used the Votebuilder data system to mobilize supporters and target voters.

As an outreach intern for UCLA's international relations center, I helped with logistics and assisted audience for major campus speaker events, including Gen. James Mattis, New Yorker editor David Remnick, and former Sen. George Mitchell, among others.

For three years in college, I worked as a guide in UCLA's outdoors program, designing and leading multi-day excursions for students to California's mountain, desert, and coastal parks. In addition to leading student trips, I also organized training trips for more than 20 student guides to Joshua Tree National Park for rock climbing and the eastern Sierra Nevada for snow skills.
