CEO in a Community Health Center system and President of the Wyoming Primary Care Association. Large scale turnaround of the entire, very underperforming, CHC organization of approximately 120 employees, 20 providers. The CHC organization’s doors were in the process of closing with a decline of Cash On Hand down to half a day. In three years, Cash On Hand was increased from ½ day to 40 days. This transformation was accomplished through these efforts:- Per HRSA requirement for CHC profitability we utilized Six Sigma process development to redesign a scheduling system that allowed for the flexibility of each provider’s productivity level to reach on average treating 3 patients per hour per year while allowing that provider to use discretion in spending more time with patients in need.- Redesigned the entire financial process through quality process development with entire financial department’s active participation and input creating maximum ownership.- Developed and implemented a Quick Care Department providing for extended daily/weekend hours resulting in profitability in its first year. - Collaborated with local Medical Assistant training company to allow MA students to do a rotation through our clinics as part of practical training and allowing us to observe them and offer employment to the best students. Taught one entire day on developing a collaborative, teaming mindset.- Healed historic poor relations with the local University of Wyoming OB Gyn training program we extended an offer for two of their M.D. instructors to be on our OB Gyn hiring committee. - Started a ‘Give Kids A Smile’ free 2-day annual dental event. Free exams, x-rays, cleaning, and procedures for children previously identified through a collaboration with Natrona County School District nurses. - Achieved very high marks on 17 of the 19 HRSA Success Points, placing the organization in the top 17% of CHCs in the country.
