About Daniel Caplan
Beginning in January 2019 I have performed in a senior full-stack web developer roll on agile teams developing React-based SPAs and Spring Boot microservices. In this roll I have displayed my proficiency in Java and JavaScript and learned how to utilize various AWS services, how to implement CI/CD pipelines in GitLab and deploy containerized services to a kubernetes cluster. Prior to this position I had extensive experience architecting embedded systems and desktop based UIs for LiDAR instruments used by the DoD, NASA, and other commercial customers. On the electrical side I have designed system level cable harnesses, internal wiring, and schematic and PCB layout of power, analog, and digital designs (no FPGA design). On the software side I primarily use C and C++ along with the QT framework for GUI design. I have around 8 years experience with QT. My projects have ranged from implementing signal processing algorithms and data processing to multi-subsystem embedded control for scientific instruments. I have intermediate knowledge of the Linux kernel and have dabbled in bash scripting as well. I have also done bare-metal programming on micro-controllers from NXP (ARM Cortex series) and Atmel. I am always striving to learn more languages and take my skills to the next level. My best asset is my ability to learn quickly and ask key questions to provide customers with what they want.
Listed skills include Embedded Systems, Embedded Software, Debugging, Programming, and 18 others.
