Daniel Pedro Míguez holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires (1988) and a PhD in Anthropology from the Free University of Amsterdam (1996). He is currently a researcher at the Institute of Geography, History and Social Sciences / National Council for Scientific and Technical Research, and regular professor of the Faculty of Human Sciences of the National University of the State of Buenos Aires. He has been director of the Institute of Social Historical Studies (2011-2014) of the same University and directed the Masters in Social and Political Anthropology (2012-2013) of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences. Since 1988 he has researched on citizen security and school conflicts in contexts of urban poverty. He has published more than 80 articles and 10 books on these topics.
