Responsibilities: Direct line management of the 50+ academic staff within Accounting & Finance subject group. Staff recruitment, probation, professional development, and performance management. Workload planning and allocation for A&F subject group. Ensuring alignment of the A&F department with UWE Bristol’s strategic aims (including outstanding practice-led learning, ready and able graduates, research with impact, and partnership working) and the universities core values. Part of the department’s leadership team and working closely with other Heads of Department. Working with professional services to plan delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching (including student number planning, staff and student timetables, resourcing, and quality assurance.) Maintain module leadership and teaching commitments in Essential Information Skills module. Achievements: Implemented a cultural shift in the department and improved moral dramatically.  Achieved outstanding NSS results across our undergrad programs in a challenging environment.  Led the department through a curriculum development process in which we reviewed all of our programs and ultimately designed a new undergraduate Programme. Recruited and on-boarded 20 new members of staff in a growing department.  Represented UWE at an Advanced HE project on assessment strategies.  Completed the UWE called to lead program for up and coming leaders.

Senior Lecturer in Accounting & Finance leading various modules including: Understanding Business and Financial Information, Professional Development for Accounting and Finance and Essential Information Skills. I have also taken on a Programme Leadership role and I am responsible for the BSc Accounting Programme at UWE.

Responsibilities: Responsible for Airbus UK monthly P&L Submissions; including detailed quality and trend checks for both costs and revenues.  Primary lead on manufacturing topics with Ops and understanding complex flows in different SAP systems.  Detailed cost trend analysis for audit and internal quality checks.  Managing intern and graduate through levies processes and monthly clearances. Achievements:  Heavily involved the development, testing, integration and training for a new SAP S/4 Hana system across the UK.  Streamlined a large number of business processes including the allocation of variances leading to a significant decrease in manual hours every month.  Ran training courses on complex finance topics across the business to ensure financial compliance.

Real Estate and Facilities Business partner responsible for all CapEx spends and approvals in the UK.Forecast and budget compiling, submission and presentation. Responsible for generating a number of high profile, large value business cases which ultimately led to cost savings and reduced the environmental impact of Airbus in the UK.

Following my succesful completion of the Airbus Graduate scheme I was offered a position in Procurement Controlling. I was responsible for a spend of c€1bn. Key responsibilities included forecasting, business partnering and financial analysis.

The Direct Entry Graduate Scheme at Airbus is a two year programme that allowed me to work internally within various departments, as well as with external suppliers both in the UK and abroad. Due to the different placements I pursued on the scheme, a detailed description of each on has been provided below under 'projects'.

I was involved in many different projects within the StorageWorks marketing team including price tracking, financial analysis and IDC reports. These projects helped me develop financial awareness and analytical skills, during this time I used a number of software applications to format and present the data.I was given the responsibility of coordinating the team roadmap and interlock documents where all of the new products and actions were recorded. I had to produce these documents as well as present them to senior management.
