I have an operational responsibility for 14 staff, split across two teams. My duties cover recruitment, training and development and the overall running of the department including overseeing daily workloads, projects and managing KPI’s. In addition to this I am the Senior Business User for Data Management which utilises my experience in change management by leading and developing new initiatives on a cross-functional basis. I ensure that legislative procedures and internal processes are adhered to in line with our ISAE 3402 audit requirements.

As Team Manager I was in charge of 24 staff with my role comprising all elements of HR and people management, including recruitment, personal development, competency and performance management of my team. Alongside this I have an operational and technical responsibility to ensure the team meets SLA's, KPI's and business objectives. I have the full ActiveManager (TM) accrediation which is a nationally recognised qualification in management led change in operational performance. This generates improvements in productivity and service standards by focusing on people, process and capacity management. I am joint head of recruitment for my department and further to this I am project managing the Training and Development plan for Placement Services ahead of a complete system re-strucutre in 2016.

As Team Leader in the Commercial Litigation department of Howes Percival solicitors I was in charge of managing a team of 14 paralegals. I was required to allocate work for my team and liaise with Solicitors and Partners in order to manage all case loads and work to both short and long term deadlines. I was responsible for training all new members of staff that came into the team as well as undertaking quarterly performance reviews. On top of my Team Leader duties I was engaged in work for one major client on cases relating to situations of insolvency, asset recovery and corporate fraud.

As a Senior Enforcement Officer I was responsible for administratively recovering defendants unpaid court fines and arranging payment terms for newly imposed orders. A key part of my role involved interviewing defendants after their attendance in court which was a specialised task for which I recieved bespoke training. After 6 months in this role I was promoted to working in the Family Maintenance department where I was in sole charge of case managing all files for the department. I regularly attended Family Court hearings where I would be called upon to present evidence to both the Court Clerk and Family Magistrates.
