This research was conducted as part of a Meng Project Placement where development of patented Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave radar was utilised for detection of salt and potholes on roads and corrosion under insulation.

Researching a novel inexpensive, non-invasive Brain Computer Interface for the teleoperation of a quadruped robot via motor imagery. The human wearing the headset imagines movements which are decoded via a neural network to the robotic platform.

Investigation of Trustworthy Robotic Systems across a wide range of industries. This research includes reliability modelling, prognostics and health management, safety case and risk analysis and system ontology which will enable intelligent control.

Utilising Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar for applications which include structural health monitoring of wind turbine blades, reinforced concrete and detection of other infrastructure failure precursors using non-contact, non-destructive evaluation. In addition, FMCW radar sensing has been implemented on an autonomous robotic platform, Husky A200 to support localisation in opaque environments such as mist, smoke or poor visibility.

I completed a 10-week internship as an Electrical Design Engineer where I gained valuable experience in how to use programmes such as CAD, Amtech Pro Design and Dialux. I was heavily involved in projects which involved Lighting Design, Fire Alarm Design, Small Power Distribution and Lightning Protection. I used these skills gained when working on projects from Edinburgh Park Parabola to offices throughout Edinburgh and Energy Centres.
