As part of a non-profit initiative, I matched vulnerable healthcare workers with accommodation providers during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The temporary accommodations provided by hundreds of generous business owners from South Africa's hospitality sector gave thousands of healthcare workers safe, clean, and comfortable lodgings during the worst of the lockdowns. Subsequently, healthcare staff were able to avoid contaminating their households and commuting long distances to work.

Performing several administrative and managerial duties including stock management, bookkeeping, team supervision, event coordination, booking management, system maintenance, onboarding and training, social media marketing, and general day-to-day operations. The position demanded great flexibility, efficiency under pressure, communication skills, leadership skills, initiative, novel problem-solving, and attention to detail. Wild Spirit Lodge is a large, popular hostel in one of the country's most well-traveled tourist destinations. As part of a small staff overseeing a diverse team of short-term volunteers, one of my biggest challenges was maintaining continuity within daily operations and staff conduct despite consistently high staff turnover.
