I am currently the Lead Data Scientist at AHSA, where I have the opportunity to use the knowledge I've gained over the years to understand and improve efficiencies in the Payment Integrity and Value Based Care space.I grew up in Lima - Perú, and following my passion for mathematics, graduated in Masters of Mathematics at Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería before moving to Australia in November 2005 to complete PhD in Mathematics at Federation University. My specialisation back then was Generalized Conjugation Techniques for Global Optimisation. Following this, I pursued an active career as Research Fellow and Lecturer at Federation University, publishing in several international journals until December 2014.Considering the future of technology and the hastening field of big data analytics and machine learning, a friend assisted me in pursuing an additional PhD, which was a gamble that eventually paid off.Subsequently, I commenced my second PhD which was in Information Technology, specialising in understanding graph networks across Health Informatics and risk adjusted provider performance, and was completed in 2018.As part of my research, I was actively involved with my industry partner, Medibank Private. The significance of this pursuit was the application of my research to industry-related outcomes with the support of my industry partner. Importantly, this investment facilitated for my broad exposure to understanding several optimisation problems that private health insurance faces, as well as significant experience dealing with different stakeholders with a broad range of interests.Having completed this, I continued the application of these research to understand fraud, abuse, and leakage across the claims management workspace under the auspices of the Digital Health Cooperative Research Centre and Lorica Health in Sydney. Thanks to this opportunity and the amazing support provided by Lorica (now part of Cotiviti), I was able to learn more about Transactional Data and Claims Integrity.Outside of, I am married, and my wife and I are the proud parents of a wonderful 7y.o. son and enjoy the freezing beauty of Ballarat.PS: My profile picture, I took it while I was in Wrocław, Poland.
