I worked as an intern at kier highways deport in Aston Birmingham. My role was to maintain Birmingham streets to keep them safe and clean.Tree planting throughout different areas of Birmingham using many tools such as wooden support beams and gages.The lining crew involved going out to different areas of Birmingham to insert road marking onto the road and I used skills such as dealing with extreme heat when cooking the paint and understanding the heat can be dangerous.IRV crew involved going out to jobs such as a cracked tile and replacing it or filling in a pot hole with temporary tarmac.The depot store room involved looking after stock and giving it to operatives who might need it such as road signs, saws, PPE and so on
