Accountable for leading the Key Stage 4 pastoral team with a current focus on raising standards of attainment in English and Maths. Identifying students with additional pastoral needs and working with key agencies / instigating appropriate interventions where necessary. Supporting the headteacher and senior leadership team in strategising, enforcing and promoting positive behaviour, & providing opportunities to motivate students towards achieving GCSE and BTEC success. Tracking, monitoring and reporting the academic progress of individual students, classes, subjects and cohorts across the school and identifying students who are meeting, exceeding or falling below their agreed targets. Working with the heads of department for Mathematics and English in order to deliver a long-term sustained program of literacy and numeracy during 'challenge lessons' in order to raise standards at GCSE.

Naval Architect seconded to the structures team during the detailed design phase for the engineering consortium (the Aircraft Carrier Alliance) building the Royal Navy's replacement aircraft carriers. This post was prior to 'main-gate' government approval and prior to the start of HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales's construction.
