A Technical Product Manager at Notime is a combined role that combines the management of one or more products and the management of the software engineers and QAs required for the products.The two main responsibilities were:- Increasing the reliability and the speed of the Hub App, which is the app all sorters use in the sorting hubs to split up thousands of parcels every day into individual delivery tours for the drivers.- Automating the salary payments to hundreds of drivers employed in an hourly salary to reduce manual work at the end of the month and speed up the payment of the salaries to the drivers.

XC Therm is a web-based 5-day thermal forecast for paragliding pilots. The focus of XC Therm is to offer a great user experience on mobile phones and desktop while providing pilots with all meteorological details necessary for planning their flights. Due to the high customer demand, XC Therm evolved from a hobby project into a professional self-sustaining product with thousands of paying subscribers.

Exprea built global disease maps and databases that enabled travelers to instantly inform themselves about recommended vaccinations and medications for any given itinerary.• Established partnership agreements with walk-in clinics and doctors.• Managed financial operations.• Built and launched the first version of the Exprea platform.• Designed and implemented the GIS database for querying disease risks and recommendations for any given location on the planet.

After seven intense years as the founder of quitt.ch and a successful exit, it was time to give my body and mind a change of scene and a new challenge. I packed my touring bicycle and my camping equipment and booked a flight to Iran. Starting in Shiraz, I pedaled 5500 km through Central Asia’s deserts, valleys, and high-altitude mountain passes, exploring countries such as Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.Apart from being a big physical and mental challenge, this trip was also very rewarding with respect to opening my eyes towards new cultures and people.For pictures and travel reports about this adventure, please visit my blog: www.danielstravels.com/centralasia/After spending two months in Switzerland, I continued my travels together with my wife for seven more months, exploring Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. From the beauty of Borneo’s tropical rainforest to busy capitals such as Ho-Chi-Minh-City or Bangkok, I got a good idea of how life works in Asia and what the current challenges are. I was a member of several in-house and external software and hardware projects for Zühlke’s clients with focus on Microsoft technologies. Client names included Swisscom, Phonak, Diebold, Neuropie, and Innet. The range of projects included embedded solutions, mobile development, and enterprise software. The durations of the projects were between 2 - 12 months. In some of the projects I had the full responsibility for the development, in other projects I was an external consultant and a Software Engineer.
