Cowan Ropes Course

-Facilitating groups of Bucknell students through attractions such as low ropes courses, high ropes courses, climbing walls, and zip-lines.-Providing students with access to outdoor education and challenge by choice philosophies -Became certified in CPR and First Aid through the Outdoor Education and Leadership program at Bucknell.

This was an engineering course offered within New Zealand that included:-Topics on sustainability, renewable energy, and indigenous cultures within New Zealand.-Lectures provided from chaperoning professors, professors from New Zealand Universities as well as entrepreneurs.-Travel across 15 different cities and towns.-Analysis of the current and future energy use within New Zealand.-A direct comparison of the energy use between the United States and New Zealand.

-Initiated, planned and implemented community programs and college activities for the residents within the Society and Technology Residential College.-Programs included holiday events, themed study breaks as well as off-campus excursions. The off-campus excursions entailed trips to Washington D.C. and Hershey Park.-Worked closely with Senior Fellows and other professors during weekly meetings to plan college events and common hours for the students.-Assisted the Residential Advisor with enforcing policies, providing support for students and maintaining the hall community.-Encouraged the interaction between first year students, upperclass students and faculty.

Bucknell University And Iceland

This was an engineering course offered by Bucknell's director of the Grand Challenge Scholars Program that provided a diverse approach on renewable energy. Part of the course remained on campus and part of the course took place in Iceland. The course included:-Topics on entrepreneurship, finance, sustainable designing of products, and renewable energy.-Lectures provided by Bucknell professors in the School of Management, Bucknell professors in the College of Engineering, local entrepreneurs, professors at the University of Reykjavik, and locals from Iceland.-An analysis of the geothermal and hydropower plants, which supply more than 70% of the nation's energy consumption.-Designing a conceptual model for an energy independent and water independent community-Developing a theoretical business as a final project. The business was named The Greenhouse Initiative and it included a water management system, an anaerobic digester system, and a business plan for a greenhouse kit.

Erie, Pennsylvania

-Monitored different part and assembly files using SAP software to assess their performance under static, dynamic and treatment tests.-Collaborated with quality and design engineers in weekly meetings to ensure parts were ready for shipping.-Used Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word to organize data, to create a variety of graphs and charts, as well as to construct flow charts for meetings and presentations.-Worked on two teams while interning: 1. Consulted with quality engineers from three different LORD plants to improve the quality of processes used to fabricate parts. 2. Created and updated part drawings with design engineers for Aerospace companies.
