Daniel is a paramedic and former combat medic who is an M.D student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He served for seven years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, including a deployment in 2016 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Before attending medical school, Daniel worked as a paramedic with several agencies in Southwestern PA including Southbridge EMS, Ambulance and Chair, North Huntington EMS, and the UPMC Paramedic Response Team. His research interests include prehospital trauma resuscitation and calcium supplementation in massive transfusion. Daniel received his officer commission with the US Army through the Health Professions Scholarship Program and will continue his service as a medical officer upon the completion of his studies at UPSOM.
