I have been working for more than 25 years in strategic purchasing of technical products. My roles (Commodity Manager, Sourcing Account Manager, Senior Procurement Manager) included mainly: • determining and managing purchasing strategy for engineering parts – both locally (Europe) and globally (USA, China); • leading of teams of 4–8 buyers; achieving savings (on average, 150k € per year), ensuring required level of quality for commodities purchased.I have been using following methods: market analysis, requirement analysis, monitoring technical and business trends in the commodity purchasing.I have my own system for supplier research, assessment and selection. Important part of my roles was to work with and develop current and new suppliers.While trying to achieve savings, I strived for improved products, therefore I held active roles in development and improvement of new as well as existing products – including cooperation with cross-functional teams – design, quality, engineering, logistics.
