Leading the design, development and implementation of a portfolio of projects (programme) focused on financial inclusion for agriculture VC players. Program implements technical assistance components of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, ecosystem building, and value chain coordination efforts from smallholders, MSMEs and corporate agribusiness.Programme layers traditional ag financing with blending finance, - de-risking instruments such as guarantees, matching funds, concessional financingProgram with a direct staff component of 40 staff, covering 5 countries in East and Central Africa. Reaching over 300K SHFs directly and through MSME ecosystems for inputs, knowledge, digitisation, arranging direct bank commercial and DFI-led risk and concessional financing, delivering 100 million USD of ag fiancé annually, across all major food value chains, plus key cash crops. I also support partnership and stakeholder relationship management for all private, government and multilateral key partners, and lead resource mobilization for the Food and Agriculture Pillar.

- In this initiative, I am supporting in the design and implementation of good food policy and across several African countries on programs, policies, and strategy to increase consumption of nutritious food – with programmes and initiatives in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Ghana, Nigeria, and Benin. The key component of this programme is working in policy, regulation, and technical capacity and fiancning for good food- with implementation across several African countries and India on increasing the adoption of whole grains, with fortification as a key driver.- Leading work in institution food procurement to create demand drivers: changing government procurement programmes to adopt new funding mechanisms, rejuvenate menu and operation and delivery models. This initiative has focused on using larges scale school feeding or other social protection programmes – such as India’s Public Distribution Service to increase through various menu engineering approaches.Grant giveing and grant management, having Co-designed and currently overseeing the implementation of grants working on various programmatic interventions totaling over 15 million USD (directly and indirectly) focusing on programme implementation, research and evidence generation, policy, and advocacy to shift diets to be more nutritious across over ten countries globally.

• Working on improving agriculture market access and linkages and retail efficiency through policy change, investment in value chains and smallholder markets development. • Developing food security and nutrition policy, strategy and implementation frameworks for in collaboration with the national and County governments.• Developing, piloting and rolling out new agribusiness models.• Working to innovate in the agriculture value chain through adoption of new technology including developing IT in supply chain and retail.• Working across innovations in the food systems including addressing post-harvest losses, food safety and quality assurances, value addition and commercialisation.• Identifying policy and knowledge gaps in agriculture and food security, scoping and commissioning studies and managing study assignments, both internally and by external consultants

I provided clients with political economic risk analysis and advisory, government relations and stakeholder management. Service areas include guarding against reputation risks through due diligence and mitigation. Also conduct market (regulation, taxation and policy) and competitive landscape analysis. Key accounts are in extractives (oil and minerals), commodities (agriculture) and infrastructure.

• As a Business Analyst, I work across the portfolio to define business cases for farmers and private sector companies working in the Mango, potato and tomato value chains;• I work with various segments of buyers – export, fresh local market and alternative buyers especially the nascent dry mango segment. For these, I write business cases that define benefits of working with farmers who have adopted PHL technologies, as well defining ROIs for any interventions that these private sector companies invest in;• I am also managing these partnerships, as well as working to develop and mango value chain where post-harvest losses are reduced by at least 15%, and which is rewarding for small scale holder farmers and private sector technology providers and mango buyers;• Am also working to develop models for adopting of post-harvest loss management technologies including developing management models and financing mechanisms for all the technologies

My key roles have included performing research and analysis on key development and economic growth related issues in sectors like agriculture, energy and environment, access to finance, health and education and inclusive growth strategies to address pressing development issue. The types of projects have ranged from impact evaluation, strategy and implementation plans, economic analysis, market entry as well as research and development of new business ideas/ models. In these, i have conducted end to end project management and execution, including research and information/data gathering, analysis, modelling, insights as well as providing recommendations on strategic recommendations on execution.
