Assisting in the day to day running of the Zoo.I would be entrusted with the handling of money, setting up, operating, and packing down the zoo's admission booths. I would also been tasked with the general care of site, ensuring the zoo is up to a high standard for guests when they visit.I would go on to be trained to work in the zoo's 'Guest Services' building, in which I would be tasked with solving various issues presented both internally and by the general public, many of which required a significant level of problem solving to address the issues.As part of this role I also staffed the Zoo’s Lorikeet and Lemur walkthroughs, educating the public about the incredible species within the walkthroughs.In this role I also assisted the Zoo’s education team when required, giving the daily animal talks and staffing the butterfly walkthrough.On a voluntary bases through this role, I assisted the Zoo's Research and Conservation Team through helping with the 2023 NSCC Research Symposium. I have also undertaken animal transects and scan surveys to help with the team's research and conservation aims.

In this role I staffed the Zoo’s butterfly walkthrough and gave the daily animal talks, educating the public about the animals the Zoo holds, and the threats they are facing in the wild. Additionally I would educate the public who were participating in the Zoo’s Summer Adventure Trail, staffing the ‘Oceania Base Camp’ I would educate the public on the threats being faced by the unique species of Oceania.Finally, I provided one-to-one experiences by acting as a guide for the Zoo’s Junior Keeper for a Day experiences. As part of this I would guide the Junior Keeper through the many aspects involved in being an animal keeper at a zoo.
