The current project is for a large casino that has 40 plus locations on 15 IBM i LPARS. The project consist of moving several services such as their Reward System to a centralized server and converting all of the locations to commutate to the centralized server via JMS using TIBCO API’S on the IBM i. I was originally brought on as a developer but was quickly moved into the position of IBM i Team Lead due to my ability to quickly learn both the terminology and the project requirements. While having managed many projects over the years this is my first experience using Agile for the development mythology. I have found it interesting and helpful to use this approach. Although it doesn’t fit with RPG development as well as it may for say Web Development. The Jira tool we are using I find is more limiting then I would like when it comes to assigning resources. Overall I’m really enjoying this project and learning another approach to project management is also a benefit. • Overall responsibility for ensuring on-time delivery of project in collaboration with project sponsors, other teams and stakeholders.• Provide day-to-day project leadership and decision making on critical project issues as they pertain to project scope, value, schedule, methodology and resources.• Ensure project documentation is complete and communicated. • Facilitate the prioritization of project requirements with business stakeholders.• Manage the planning and control of project activities and resources utilizing Agile process

Working at DP Solutions was great it did mean that my family lived in VA Beach and I was in MD most of the time. So that my wife and kids didn't forget who I was I took a position with Dollar Tree. While 99% of my time is spent coding it's nice to be home every night. Now that I'm coding more I'm getting into a lot of SQL and learning to write Handler Programs using OA. More updates to come as I settle into this new position.

My current positions utilizes several of my skills from Pre-Sales Support, System Performance and Tuning, Designing Disaster Recovery Solutions, Project Management, Business Analysis, System Analysis, System and Application support, OS and System upgrades, as well as software development.The main tools that I use to complete these tasks are: IBM eConfig, IBM System Planning Tool, Performance Tools, RPG IV, RPG Free Format, Dynamic SQL, RPG ILE (Modules, Service programs, Binding Directories), Stored Procedures, SDA, CLP, DDS, System API’S, CGI API’S, HTML, XML, TCP client and server programs for Web Services, integration with other systems using various methods, MS Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project, Outlook, Soap UI any various tools as need to get the job done .The types of development projects I’ve been working on includes (written in RPG):• Web Clients to retrieve data from external Web Services.• Web Services to receive XML orders, status request, etc.• Web application to search for selected information and display PDFo The DB is on the IBM I and the PDF’S that we link to are stored on an X86 system • AFP (overlays) to replace preprinted forms• Automated FTP processes between systems• Web Application to allow updating of information in real time.• Just starting project to capture signature from iPad and store with BOL information into a PDF that can be searched and reprinted from the Web.

When I first came to Workflow Solutions I was assigned two large projects in addition to normal maintenance of the system. The first assignment was to design and develop a system that would maintain a variable number and type of attribute about a company’s location. This information is then used to do complex selection and assignment of materials to be shipped to each location. The first customer to use the application was a bank with 3,500+ locations. The application was utilized to send out the banks campaign materials. Using this application, it was possible to ship specific materials required for each location. The second project was to implement a new tax package into the company’s legacy system that required extensive changes to the current process. With the iSeries as our back office system; I work with several different forms of integrations for our eCommerce platforms and warehouse systems. This includes web services, ODBC, stored procedure, spreadsheets, EDI and ftp. These tools are being used to both push and pull information to and from the iSeries.As the Manager of Supply Chain Services, I handle hardware and software upgrades on the iSeries, support contracts in addition to managing multiple development projects, direct reports (FTE) as well as contractors. I work with the warehouses to ensure that orders flow properly through the systems. This includes but not limited to interfaces with EDI, two commerce shopping carts, spreadsheets and direct entry into the iSeries.I am a technical hands on manager. In addition to managing multiple projects, I also problem solve, review and change processes (manual and systems), write code, work on hardware, capacity planning, and any other duties that can assist bringing our projects in on time and within budget.
