My responsibilities for this position included checking IDs of students who wanted to use the recreational facility, clean up the weight room, and direct visitors where they needed to go. This position was part of a work-study program through Capital University.

I tutored at-risk, inner-city, middle school children. Responsibilities for this position required me to not only be a tutor, but to be a mentor and a positive influence in their lives. This position was part of a work-study program through Capital University.

My primary responsibility was to sort clothes, but I also did other various tasks. Other tasks included washing clothes, handling incoming and outgoing transactions, fold clothes, rack clothing, and close the store at the end of my shift. Termination from this job was due to the bad economy and I was “laid off” because of that factor.

My job responsibilities included being the cashier, supervising the back entrance, cleaning up trash, taking the trash out, and cleaning the pools and bathrooms. Along with this I supervised the children at the pool to keep problems to a minimum, and I have to mediate many conflicts between children or general patrons.

This position consisted of doing various construction projects. Projects ranged from painting porches, putting rubber roofing on apartment buildings, painting the city pool, to painting houses. Through this job I learned the value of hard manual labor and a strong work ethic.
