An all-rounder off the pitch. A passion for sport, communication and processes, combined with knowledge and experience gained through working the best part of 20 seasons in county cricket, has led to my current role of Cricket Operations Manager of Leicestershire County Cricket Club. Studied at De Montfort University to gain both an undergraduate degree in media and psychology and a postgraduate diploma in Journalism. An NCTJ-qualified journalist with vast experience of print and online journalism, managing websites and social media platforms and proofreading. Previously worked strategically and produced content within media, marketing and communications teams for print and digital platforms for over a decade, mainly at Leicestershire County Cricket Club, but also at the Leicester Mercury. My role at the club has always been varied, and a change in career direction emerged through a desire to have increased responsibility, an eagerness to push my boundaries, and a desire to try something new. Organised, committed, self-disciplined and focussed, equally comfortable working alone to deadline or as part of a team, and constantly looking for ways to improve and develop. My experience covers every aspect of the sporting year; pre-season planning and matchday activity. It is a privilege to work in professional sport, which has taken me all over the country as well as unforgettable trips to India and South Africa. The game is ever-changing and fast paced; the introduction of a fourth cricket format means that the 2020 season will have a new look and feel. There is no fear in the unknown, only opportunity. If you stand still, you go backwards.
