My role leads me to being responsible for 50+ machines and operations. I have had many breakdowns along with fault finding experiences. I am responsible for:Pneumatic systemsHydraulic systems Electrical circuitsMechanical systemsMechanical faultsBench fittingPlanned maintenanceAny form of breakdown Machine operatingFabricatingWeldingPlant coverFirst aid I enjoy all aspects of my job as everyday there is something different. I passed my adult apprenticeship within 6 months with a recognizable amount of work, even so my portfolio was used as a foundation for others to work towards as an adult apprentice.

Upon my accomplishments of the yard I reached out to ask for any further education. I was welcomed to an apprenticeship in engineering. This entailed gaining knowledge and experience in the factory’s first. I learned the processes of many machines and equipment. The plants were challenging at first to understand the machine cycles, line management and procedures but this was leading me up to a newer role in which I’d delve deeper into the infrastructure of what makes them move.

2 years into my full time job i was approached to work on various machines:Shunting train360 with block attachmentFolk truckGrab truck (folks but with grab attachment)Dock spotter (Yard shunting vehicle for transporting arctic trailers)HGV that transports a trailer compressor All the above was in house provided training.

Responsible for strapping and securing concrete blocks ready for transport.

Loading of of the company materials to deliver to the southern division. Driving HGV, 360 loader, excavators, clam shell track driven 360, folk truck, grab truck, telehandler, scissor lift and cherry picker licenses.Operations within all of the yard jobs to a good standard. Operations within the production plants of the wetside ( block production ) and dry side ( final finished product )Knowledge of all lines and how they interlink. Knowledge over all machine functionality and processes.

-I started as a cleaner part time from college on weekends and school holidays-By the time I was full time I had a good understanding of the procedures along with the terminology of the place. I covered various roles including packing, scanning, vac packing, weighing products and picking from stock. - I had been there a good year before I got asked to transfer into the despatch department. The roles here included scanning, picking, stacking, loading, IT skills, wrapping and communication (through 2 way radio or works phone). - A good few years went by when I was asked to become our shift supervisor with the responsibilities of looking after 20-30 staff, yearly standard operating procedures (SOP’s), stock rotation, critical time management (wagon deadlines and dates on products),Shop floor cleanliness and first aid responder. - I also had a brief period of being stand in manager. - Towards the end of my career at dovecote along came shift changes which allowed me to pick up a part time job up in between. The new job being plasmor Ltd. At this point I was saving for a house working 6-7 days a week.

In my first year at college I retook my gcse’s for better grades. I studied the following subjects: Maths-BB English-B Environmental.

Finished high school with only 3 A-C and went on to college to redo my gcse and continue onto A level.
