Group leader of the multi-disciplinary Nyqvist research group with key interests in Vascular Biology, Diabetes and Cancer. The common goal of our research is to identify and characterize signaling pathways that play a critical role for vascular development and blood vessel function in health and disease. We are interested in mechanisms that regulate both vessel growth and barrier function in normal and disease conditions, primarily cancer and diabetes. Our research is supported by major funding agencies such as the Swedish Research Council, Cancer Society and Diabetes Association.

PI and research group leader for the Nyqvist group focused on Vascular Biology, Diabetes and Cancer.

I was a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Professor Elisabetta Dejana Field and conducted studies focused on vascular biology and cell signalling. I was engaged in several projects focusing on the development and function of blood vessels in health and diseases related to the CNS and cancer. I was responsible for extensive work with animal models, in particular models of angiogenesis and pathological conditions of retinopathy, stroke and cancer. The projects were part of European research networks and included network meetings, project management and progress reporting. I supervised master students and organized an international PhD course.
