Engagement with local authorities and building control organisations to discharge planning conditions, and satisfy surveyor appraisal reports.Establishing common methods of working across all projects, with the introduction and management of a standard detail library, alongside a standard NBS specification library. To streamline the production of the technical package for each new and upcoming project.

Recently commenced working. Prepare necessary drawings and documentation for Building Regulations approval and prepare working drawings, layouts and other details required by site. Prepare schedules required by the Buyers for procurement purposes in connection with materials and equipment. Liaise and negotiate with various consultants in the preparation of information for construction. Including Structural Engineers, Drainage Consultants, Landscape Architects and Specialist Surveyors. Co-ordinate all information received from external consultants. Liaise and negotiate with the NHBC, Planning Authorities and other statutory authorities as appropriate to ensure that all approvals are achieved well in advance of the project completion.Organise meetings as may be required with construction teams to ensure that drawings, schedules and other design instructions are available when required to enable site staff, suppliers, sub-contractors and specialists perform to site programmes efficiently. General project management responsibilities involving site inspections, attendance at site meetings and overseeing all drawings, specifications and other relevant instructions destined for the site with a view to monitoring progress and ensuring that site deadlines are met.

Projects produced include a 54 unit development for the Duchy of Cornwall in Dorchester, a five-storey house in Sandbanks and a development of 200 units on the Isle of Wight, including two listed building conversions. Working independently as part of a multi-discipline team, managing my own workload in accordance with project deadlines. Also providing technical support to the Senior Technical Manager and Project Manager. (AutoCAD LT 2011).

Working drawing packages & NBS specification documents for the replacement of Guildford Baptist Church roof, an extension to Littlehampton Fire Station, and the second phase of a Support Centre for people with autism, (an extension to existing cottages). (All drafting work produced using VectorWorks 2011).

Since the company’s inception I have undertaken a variety of work, from introducing a first floor to an existing ground floor only building, to a recent feasibility study for 3no. 4-bed detached houses up to outline planning stage. Along with residential extensions and loft conversion projects, which I have taken through both Planning and Building Control stages. All drawing packages for the above projects produced by myself, including detailed plans, sections, elevations, and construction details. Specifications and design access statements also produced where required.

Worked on a wide variety of projects with differing levels of involvement, from standard Architectural Technician duties as a member of a large design team, producing plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules and NBS specifications; to Project Management and Contract Administration duties, running projects from inception to completion, producing full drawing and specification packages for Planning, Building Control, and Tendering stages, plus site management, contractor instruction, and building completion.Team member on many Children’s Centre projects, developing existing schools and their site plans to accommodate accessible areas for shared use between the community, and after-school care, while remaining separate in function from the main body of the school. All projects produced in line with DDA compliance and current Building Regulations.Several feasibility studies completed for Leisure, Housing, Education & Social Care Dept.s, including overall site planning, costings, and presentation layouts. (All work created using AutoCAD, from versions 2004 up to 2009).

Producing general arrangement layout plans, site plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules and specifications for above project. Managed the project CAD system, developed drawing/system filing standards for continued use on future projects, including the introduction of external referencing, UCS co-ordination of plans and creation of a standard layering system, in line with British Standards for drafting work. (AutoCAD 2002).

Working as a member of a small team of Architects producing general layout and detailed design drawings, for the modernisation and extension of the National Veterinary Laboratory, Poland. Varied cleanroom CL2 & CL3 laboratory work carried out, from typical room layouts and elevations, to standard schedules and room data sheets, finally completing the project to tender dossier stage, including specifications, sections and details. The project itself an extremely fast-track schedule, detailed and specified to the extent of an 8 month project with a substantially larger multi-disciplined team, actually successfully completed in 4 months with only a small number of personnel involved. (AutoCAD 2002).

Supporting the Principal Architect in the production of general layout and detailed design drawings for the second phase extension of a major multi-product plant. After a brief introduction period, I was required to learn to use Microstation, the drawing offices’ preferred choice of CAD package, to produce drawings from blockwork penetrations to reflected ceilings and detailed planning layouts. (All work carried out using Microstation with occasional use of Speedikon, a specific Architectural add-on package to Microstation).

Working directly as a technician in support of the senior designer on two major filling line projects, one including freeze drying technology. I also worked on a major Swedish biotech project, from which I gained experience in the concept and development of detail design for cleanroom facilities involving walk-on ceilings, and understanding the requirements of gowning procedures and associated change room facilities. Experience developing future facility and personnel flows, for a multi-product biotech facility. (AutoCAD 2000).

Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Plant, Cruiserath Road, Dublin, Ireland,(Aug 2001 – Dec 2001):Three months spent on site producing detailed design drawings for large production, and subsidiary process buildings, ranging from partition details to general arrangement layout drawings. Some work carried out on PDMS, (limited knowledge, inquiring database & models only).Home Offices: Port Solent & Solent Business Park, (Jan 2001 – Aug 2001):Work carried out on two different pharmaceutical projects, one being BMS, producing work as stated above, but from the home office; including sections, staircase design, construction details and general drawing revisions. I spent the earlier part of the year working on a second project for Johnson Controls, producing site plans and elevations from conceptual design, through to the final stages of the Planning Application. (All work carried out using AutoCAD R14, with AEC 5.1 and Multi-suite).
