Took the Showmax Nigeria social community from 200,000 to 1.3 Million in just two years…I am a communications professional with over five years of experience helping brands build stronger relationships with their audience. I transitioned from traditional journalism to communications and brand management — and for my next trick, I’m pursuing growth marketing. But that’s in the near future; let me introduce you to the present. I currently straddle the sweet spot between journalism and marketing, two areas that interrogate the human psyche and demand action after engagement. (The cool kids call it brand journalism: communicating stories about a brand to enlighten its readers and be closer to its audience.) My journalism background has equipped me with the fundamental skills — an eye for detail, an understanding of compelling narratives, etc. — to effectively convey a brand’s message via the right channels. This has given me a deep understanding of the media landscape and educated me on how best to reach and engage audiences. I want to help companies and brands build stronger customer relationships via social media and/or content marketing. I do this by concepting effective campaigns rooted in enthralling narratives that evoke emotions and excitement to manage the brand’s reputation and attain business goals.
