As an acclaimed storyteller, my journey began in journalism where I crafted narratives that shaped policy across various domains. Now, I channel my expertise into helping brands articulate their narratives more effectively.Currently, I hold the position of Head of Newsroom at Ogilvy Africa, an editorially-led and creative backed in-agency content hub. Here, I spearhead content creation for a diverse range of client accounts across multiple sectors.My editorial contributions extend to international platforms such as BBC World Service's 'People Fixing the World' and 'Across The Continent' on South Africa's Power FM 98.7. I have also contributed to continental publications including Mail & Guardian (SA), Debunk Media (KE), Kaya Breakfast on Kaya FM 95.9 (SA), SABC's Channel Africa (SA), Diamond TV (ZM), News Central TV (NG) and Radio Saut 96.1 (TZ).Prior to my current role, I served as the News and Editorial Content Director at Urban Radio 90.7 FM, a regional radio station in Western Kenya. Until very recently, I also had a contractor role with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Media Program for Africa (KAS Media Africa), as the Lead Editor for Africa.Bloging - a continental political opinions website.I have contributed to the development of knowledge within East Africa's media industry through published research papers. These include: papers on media sustainability in Eastern Africa, the media coverage of Tanzania’s 2020 elections, and the role of media in influencing social and behavioral change towards Covid-19 in East Africa; all published by KAS Media Africa. In 2019, the Germany-based Global Solutions Initiative recognized me as a Young Global Changer for my work in spotlighting policy gaps in Kenya's public health system through powerful storytelling.

Project Coordinator, Bike4SchoolCycling Out Of Poverty Foundation For Africa (Coop-Africa) Aug 2011 - Jul 2013KisumuCooP-Africa is a Dutch Non-Govermental Organization operating in six African counties providing bicycle relief to fighting poverty, disease and illiteracy.While working at CooP-Africa I lead a team that was involved in providing bicycles to school children living in remote areas of Western Kenya to enable them attend school regularly. The program dubbed "Bike4School" involved identifying needy students in various schools in the vast Western Kenya region that consist of 13 counties, raising funds for purchase of the bicycles, developing a cost-sharing model with the parents and schools and finally evaluating the impact of the bicycle's on school attendance and performance.With the "Bike4Work" project that was targeting micro-entrepreneurs, we aimed at providing them with a means to access markets for their products.In both projects, I was actively involved in mentoring beneficiaries and staff who worked with me in the projects.

Assistant Project ManagerDunga Aquaculture Development Project Apr 2010 - Jul 2011Dunga Cage Aquaculture Project was the first ever fish farming project introduced on the Kenyan Waters of Lake Victoria. The Project Manager; Mr. John Okech and myself were very instrumental in the setting up of this project which was funded by the International Labor Organization (ILO) through Cooperative Facility for Africa (COOPAfrica).The project aimed at mitigating the effects of declining catches by providing fishing communities with alternative sources of income.Though the project ended in 2011, it's success led to the introduction on several cage aquaculture projects at different sites in Lake Victoria.
