The port is part of the small ports identified to have the highest economic viability and creating opportunity for development. the port area covers three (3) acres of land with an investment of Kenya Shillings 2.6 billion with a project period of24 months effective October 2022. the project scope include a modern Jetty 75 x 30 metres with a causeway of 135 metres x 7 metres wide. a warehouse accommodating a fish processing plant, cold storage and ice making plant. Others are port access road, port gates and support facilities such as offices and washrooms. The project also includes a 500KVA power substation Generator, perimeter fence, main ablution block, civil works such as driveway paving parking, storm water drainage, foul water system plus waste water management from the fish processing plant among others. -
