Daniel Oron Email and Phone Number
As a board member at Immigrant Women's Community Center (IWCC), I contribute to budgetary decisions and analysis, and advise the Executive Director on how to align the organization's work with values of equity and inclusion. I joined IWCC in July 2021 as a Program Coordinator, where I planned, scheduled, and organized various events for immigrant and refugee families, such as educational workshops, storytelling sessions, public health presentations, and forums with local representatives. I also promoted upcoming events via email, website, and social media, and distributed important information about COVID-19, extreme weather, community resources, and job opportunities. I recently graduated from OHSU-PSU School of Public Health with a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology. During my studies, I assisted in the instruction of Epidemiology 1 in online and in-person formats, engaging students in learning basic epidemiological concepts through various methods and platforms. I also implemented a new outreach effort to encourage study groups in an online asynchronous course, and created supplemental materials for student review and practice. I am interested in contributing to public health research, especially social epidemiologic research, that can inform policies and interventions that address health disparities and social determinants of health.
