CurrentLead data engineer in this marketing analytics company. Responsible for gathering, loading, manipulating, maintaining and analyzing billions of rows of data every month; writing SQL queries to explore relationships, join disparate data, and mine patterns. Additional responsibilities include traditional database administration tasks, performance tuning, script writing, user support and mentoring.Key Projects & Achievements:• A key designer and one of the three named authors on two separate patents.Both relate to a technology that provides a method of using predictive modeling to assign demographic characteristics and geographic mapping to blocks of IP addresses. The technology allows internet advertisers a cookie-free way of reaching an audience for which interests are better aligned to the products being sold.• Designed and maintained the voter/contributor/volunteer/issues database for a statewide gubernatorial campaign. Met with campaign staff on a weekly basis to integrate latest data, make changes as dictated by strategy, and mine data as needed to determine voter trends. This innovative database was the subject of a feature article in the Boston Globe.• Maintain several multi-terabyte databases, including two that contain over 750 demographic characteristics stored by household and individual. Each are updated regularly with entirely new data.Other Databases include:• An IP address database culled from several sources to add meaningful information to each range of contiguous IP addresses, allowing the predictive modeling described above.• A Business database merging several sources to create a dataset containing name, address, NAICS/SIC codes, domain names, IP address and company characteristics.
