Reporting to the Vice President of R&D and Director of Research and Development, my focus is to help lead discovery projects that leverages technology that is core to Hexion while helping to drive new growth and innovation through the exploration of new chemistry, technology and applications.New product development included phenolic resins, amino resins, polyurethane, Non-isocyanate polyurethane, epoxies, emulsion polymers, UV technology and fire retardant coatings.

•Synthesized Al-13 and Ga-13 flat clusters for use in thin film devices such as insulators and semiconductors.•Analyzed and characterized flat Ga-13, Al-13 and heterometallic flat Galium-Indium clusters using IR and 1HNMR.•Conducted thermal gravimetric analysis of gallium nitrate and Indium nitrate to determine the hydration number of each respective salt. This allowed for the determination of the ratio of the metal salts to be used in metal cluster synthesis.•Assisted with the generation of new methods for sustainable electronics and thin-film manufacturing using zinc titration methods and electrochemistry.

•Conducted research for the development of in situ coupling of biomolecules such as nucleosides to fluorescent molecules via catalyzed bio-coupling reactions under aqueous conditions.•Characterized newly synthesized biochemical adducts by 31PNMR and 1HNMR.

•Published a proceedings paper for Weber State University, and presented research regarding perchlorates on Mars and its implications for the detection of organics at the National Conference for Undergrad Research.•Acquired knowledge and experience with high vacuum system assembly.•Analyzed and collected GC-MS data upon the reaction of perchlorates with soil carbonates at the NASA Ames Research Center to investigate the implications of the detection of organics on Mars.

•Investigated the use of Bromoperoxidase (BPO) enzymes to brominate various organic substrates to potentially be used to create stronger antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal and antimicrobial products.•Encapsulated BPO enzyme within alginate gels and tetramethyl orthosilicate matrix to increase sustainability. •Communicated past research during a poster presentation at the 23rd and 24th Annual Northern California ACS Undergraduate Research Symposium.•Assisted with natural products isolation from various marine algae, to test for neurotoxins in biological systems analogous to humans.
