Researched and developed heat transfer code for large scale physics based background modeling software. Used the code to create background models on the order of 100km2 for missile seeker testing in midwave and long-wave infrared bands. Conducted many large scale field tests from instrumentation of sensors to coordination of data collection. Military vehicle exploitation and model validation: thermal signatures (static, idling, exercised), geometry, materials, surface properties, air flow. Background model validation (soil properties, vegetation properties, thermal signatures). Modeled military vehicle thermal signatures using PRISM and implemented a conservation of energy engine model along with a exhaust plume model into the FORTRAN code. Created, conducted, and analyzed camouflage comparison studies to determine top performing camouflage patterns for military vehicles and soldier uniforms. Analyzed unit performance and battle procedures in war game scenarios by developing an Accessdatabase. Expanded mechanical engineering role by learning computer programming skills. Automated many tasks using visual basic in PowerPoint and Excel and java scripting in Photoshop.
