Delays in customs clearance process were reduced and none impositions of penalties happened for more than US100 millions of equipment imported in my countries during 2008.• Optimized in country transportation costs in regards to routes, small package services and multiples deliveries in the same truck based on customer requirements, reducing local transportation costs by 10% (US 100K per year). • Implemented a routing guide to ship from Guadalajara to Guatemala to move Nortel cargo (more than 200 trailers) by ground with saving over US 300K in a year.• Transit time including customs clearance was reduced from 8 to 5 days in 2007 for Nortel shipments from NA to Mexico improving the process and communication between the players of the supply chain.• A dedicated PW in Colombia was closed in 2005 as a result of a cleanup plan of surplus and consolidation of materials. USD 36K of warehousing CR per year. US$ 1.6 in inventory cost value decreased in Q2. More than 1700 SqMt of space occupied was reduced in PW.

Responsible for supervising and supporting all activities related to properly management and inventory control for the Hardware Support/Customer Service operation, and for new projects of Nortel Colombia including importations, trade compliance, storage, inventory control, local transportation, and customer service level.Accomplishments and achievements• Implemented a plan to reduce the purchasing lead-time and optimize inventory levels in order to increase the Customer Service level over 85%.• Designed and implemented a WMS improving the inventory accuracy to the 97%. • Implemented the re-exportation process for repair and return defective units under substitution basis reducing the re-importation process cost in a 25% (US 125K).• Designed a plan to complete the surplus inventory exercise, sending report to Project Managers to define a final action to reduce the inventory Surplus.
