In my role as the department manager for the west coast region, I hold the responsibility of supervising the day-to-day operations of my team. This entails effectively communicating with executives, directing workflow through task assignments, assessing the work of team members, and evaluating their performances. I am directly responsible for ensuring that the team achieves organizational objectives in a productive and efficient manner.

As the Chief Instructor I served as the technical advisor for all food service operations, overseeing delegation and supervision of daily activities and team instructor performance. Provided assistance to the staff regarding efficient operations and team readiness, while also serving as an evaluator and instructor for visiting command activities to ensure policy and directive adherence. Offered guidance and instruction to team instructors, devloped training curriculum for food service operations, and trained all instructors to maintain comprehensive knowledge in this area. Additionally, served as a role model within the food service community.

As the Section Chief I was responsible for leading and managing a section of Marines within a larger unit. I provided strong, effective leadership to the section, serving as a role model for subordinates in military bearing, physical fitness, and professional conduct. I was responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing training for the section, ensuring that Marines were proficient in their military occupational specialty (MOS) and fully prepared for the unit's mission. I managed administrative tasks within the section, including personnel accountability, equipment maintenance, and logistical requirements.I enforced military standards, regulations, and policies within the section to maintain a high level of discipline and readiness and always ensured Marines understood their roles and responsibilities. As a leader, I provided guidance and mentorship to junior Marines, assisting with their personal and professional development. I served as a liaison between the section and higher command, relaying orders, guidance, and information as necessary.I promoted a culture of safety within the section, ensuring that Marines were trained to operate safely and effectively in all situations. As with any military unit, I ensured the section was fully prepared for combat operations, including weapons proficiency, tactical knowledge, and physical readiness.

As a Uniformed Victim Advocate (UVA) my role was to provide support, guidance, and assistance to military personnel who have been victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, or other crimes. I provided emotional support and crisis intervention to victims of sexual assault. I assisted victims in understanding their rights and options for reporting the incident, seeking medical care, and accessing support services. I would accompany victims to medical appointments, legal proceedings, and other appointments related to the incident and serve as a liaison between the victim and medical authorities, law enforcement, and support agencies. I played a vital role in educating Marines and other military personnel about sexual assault prevention, reporting procedures, and support resources. I promoted a culture of support and accountability within the Marine Corps and was dedicated to ensuring that victims of crime received the care and assistance they needed to recover from their experiences.

A Substance Abuse Control Officer (SACO) is a key figure responsible for implementing and managing substance abuse prevention and control programs within the Marine Corps community. The SACO plays a critical role in promoting a drug-free environment and ensuring the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of Marines. As a SACO I was directly responsible for developing and implementing substance abuse education and prevention programs to raise awareness about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse among Marines. I conducted regular training sessions and breifings to educate Marines on the consequences of substance abuse and the resources available for prevention and treatment. I collaborated with command leadership, medical personnel, and other support services to create a comprehensive approach to substance abuse prevention and treatement. I effectively monitored and enforced compliance with the USMC's substance abuse policies and regulations and conducted random drug testing with the coordination with designated drug testing facilities to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the testing procedures.I provided support and assistance to Marines who may be struggling with substance abuse issues, including facilitation access to counseling, treatment programs, and rehabilitation services. I maintained accurate records and reports related to substance abuse prevention and control activities, including test results and compliance data. I expertly served as a resource for commanders on matters related to substance abuse and provided guidance on handling suspected cases of substance abuse within the unit.My role as SACO was crucial in upholding the Marine Corps' commitment to maintaining a disciplined and healthy force. By promoting a culture of accountability and providing essential support to Marines, the SACO contributes to the overall readiness and effectiveness of the Marine Corps.

As an Equal Opportunity Representative (EOR), I was trained to promote an environment free from unlawful discrimination and harassment. The EOR serves as a unit advisor the the commander and provides leadership and guidance on equal opportunity (EO) matters. I advised the commander on EO policies and programs and assisted in the resolution of EO complaints and issues. I conducted training and educational programs on diversity, inclusion, and EO policies. I monitored the unit's climate and identified potential issues related to discrimination, harassment, or other EO concerns. I also provided support and guidance to service members who believe they have been subjected to discrimination or unfair treatment. I promoted a positive command climate that values diversity and respects the rights and dignity of all service members.

My primary role as a Chief Cook was to manage and oversee the food service operations for the Marine Corps' dining facility. I was responsible for planning and coordinating the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring that all food safety and sanitation standards were met.My duty required overseeing the preparation of food, including cooking, baking, and food presentation. I maintained high standards of food quality, taste and apperance, and ensured all meals met nutritional and portion control requirements. I manged food and supply inventories, placing orders for necessary items and ensured proper storage and rotation of food to prevent waste and spoilage. As the Chief Cook I enforced strict adherence to food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices to prevent foodborne illness and maintained a clean and safe kitchen environment. I also maintained compliance with all military regulations, as well as health, safety, and sanitation standards set forth by the USMC and other relevant governing bodies.I supervised, trained, and led kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective operation of the food service facility.
