- Assume overall pastoral responsibility for the full year group and have accountability for all students; follow up incidents; maintain detailed records; have meetings with parents as required, sometimes with other senior staff members; arrange sanctions where appropriate.- Attend regular meetings with the KS4 Coordinator and Senior Leadership Team; Chair Tutor Team meetings- Provide support and advice to pupils in line with promoting their social care and personal development with respect to learning and health and safety. - Organise the distribution of Certificates of Merit to students following internal exams and progress meetings.- Respond to parental enquiries by telephone, letter or email as appropriate. - Keep accurate records of all communication with parents incl. sanctions issued within each student’s file.- Assist in break/lunch detention supervision if required.- Disseminate Key Stage/Year Group information.
