I am currently in my second year at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, studying a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. I have chosen to become a Dietitian because I am passionate about food and nutrition and enjoy helping others in this way. I have a strong interest in sports nutrition and am fascinated by the relationship between food and the body and how this impacts people’s lives.By working in retail over the past 3 years I have developed a number of transferable skills that I plan on bringing into my future career. I have developed strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer service/interpersonal skills. I also have experience in tennis coaching and personal training which combined with my sports background in MMA, tennis, and powerlifting have provided me with a strong work ethic and enthusiasm to support others to achieve their goals. I am focused on strengthening my skills and gaining experience in this industry through internship and volunteering opportunities. I love to challenge myself and take on new experiences and am excited to learn more about this field as it continues to be a growing interest of mine. When I finish my degree in 2025, I will have obtained work experience and gained key skills in the healthcare environment. I hope to build on these skills and experience in a nutrition/dietitian position. I take great pride in my work and aim to continue this in my Dietetics career to help achieve my future client’s health goals and make a difference in a meaningful way.
