In February 2021, the Manhattan DA's office dissolved the Public Corruption Unit and transferred the investigation and prosecution of financial crimes by government employees, elected officials, and candidates for public office to the Major Economic Crimes Bureau. The Major Economic Crimes Bureau also upholds the integrity and security of New York’s major financial markets by investigating and prosecuting complex crimes committed in the financial sector, including securities and investment fraud, money laundering, and terrorism financing.

The Public Corruption Unit investigated and prosecuted official corruption and public integrity cases against uniformed officers, public employees, and candidates for public office. In February 2021, the investigation and prosecution of official corruption cases against uniformed officers was transferred to the newly created Police Accountability Unit, and the public integrity cases were transferred to the Major Economic Crimes Bureau.

Assigned to the Trial Bureau of the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor, an independent prosecutor's office with city-wide jurisdiction over felony-level narcotics cases. Handled felony criminal prosecutions from the charging decision through the grand jury presentation, pretrial hearings, plea negotiations, and trial. Conducted investigations using undercover officers, confidential informants, and electronic surveillance.

Represented the City, as well as NYPD and Correction Officers, in federal lawsuits for violations of civil rights pursuant to 42 U.S.C. Section 1983. Handled a smaller case load of approximately 10 complex cases, including class actions, fatal police shootings, cases with significant incarceration periods of a year or more, and "no-pay" cases which the City has determined should not be settled and should go to trial. Came onto cases several weeks prior to trial as lead trial counsel in cases which had been handled by more junior Assistant Corporation Counsels. Supervised multiple junior Assistant Corporation Counsels.

Represented the City, as well as NYPD and Correction Officers, in federal lawsuits for violations of civil rights pursuant to 42 U.S.C. Section 1983. Handled approximately thirty cases at a time as lead counsel. Negotiated with plaintiffs’ counsel regarding settlement offers. Took and defended depositions. Drafted and filed dispositive motions. Tried and won four cases in federal court, and won over ten others on motions to dismiss or for summary judgment.

Worked under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Legal Matters. Wrote legal memoranda on a wide variety of issues, from national security and civil rights to truancy enforcement. Prepared legal guidelines that were incorporated into the patrol guide. Drafted two Amicus briefs. Rotated through four bureaus: Intelligence, Detectives, Patrol, and Organized Crime. Observed officers on patrol and on search warrant executions.

Southern District Of New York

Conducted legal research on a variety of issues in criminal law. Drafted sentencing letters and responses to habeas petitions. Observed court proceedings on a daily basis. Participated in mock trial program for summer interns.
