Lead Process Engineer and Project Manager for major CapEx projects at BASF Bradford, a top tier COMAH chemical manufacturing site. Developing and implementing multi-million pound engineering projects from initial requirements to realisation. Projects include implementing global safety concepts (SHE, HAZOP, SIS design), process optimisation, consolidation (LEAN) and automation of manual processes.Significant experience in all of the stages of the Project Life-Cycle (FEED, conceptual design, cost estimation, detailed design and commissioning). Successfully delivering these stages at a top tier COMAH site within a multi-disciplinary team.Tasks/Responsibilities include:• Development of project scope estimates from multiple user requirements, including production, business, planning, supply chain, process development, environment, health and safety.• Implementation of trials on pilot plants• Development of cost estimates (50%, 30%, 10%) and associated implementation schedules• Chair/participate in SHE reviews (HAZOP), Management of Change reviews, Global Safety Concepts and Design reviews • Conceptual and Detailed Design: Development of PFD, P&ID’s, PIL’s (Process Instrumentation Logic), SIS (Safety Instrumentation Systems) Design , Explosion Protection Documentation (ATEX), line lists, equipment lists, specification/data sheets for quotation and procurement, pressure relief studies• Commissioning of process plant (Pre-Commissioning, Water Trials, Chemical Trials)• Management of project documentation via Document Management Processes• Managing and reviewing project scope, cost and schedule progress and reporting to management• Reviewing and approving documentation and design from other disciplines (Mechanical Design, E&I Design, Automation) • Creating and developing work packages and tenders for external contractors and design houses. • Reviewing external contractors and design houses progress against agreed schedule.
