The California Marine Sanctuary Foundation (CMSF) is a nonprofit organization working to advance the understanding and stewardship of ocean resources in California. For over 27 years CMSF has partnered with local communities, businesses, government agencies, NGO's, and foundations to enhance coastal environments by leveraging science, technology, and collaboration. I developed technical and strategic skill sets to identify, interpret, and communicate science regarding water quality along the watersheds that drain to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. I designed video and multimedia strategies, organized and conducted interviews, and converted recorded webinars into segmented videos for target audiences to watch at later times. I also wrote, designed, and published blog postings, social media posts, and short promotional reels for the videos I helped produce. My work is represented on the California Marine Sanctuary Foundation YouTube Channel, highlighting water quality protection projects and the continuing preservation of the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. I also developed working proficiencies in app-related video editing tools, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Canva, and polished my skills in graphics creation, sound editing, cinematography, and storyboarding with a specific focus on science communication. I utilized and strategized with social media, such as TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter, to convey science in educational, ethical, and inspirational manners to large and diverse audiences.
