I am a casual academic and researcher affiliated with the Sexualities and Genders Research Cluster, School of Social Sciences, Western Sydney University; a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy; and a Fellow of the Badugulang Centre for Teaching and Learning Excellence at WSU.With a focus on queer, feminist, and posthuman theories and methodologies, I have a particular research interest in identity and human subjectivity across a range of contexts and areas, including: social theories of difference and diversity; precarity, vulnerability, and marginalised populations; critical pedagogies; the politics of research, theory and methodology; digital technologies; post-qualitative methodologies; and neoliberalism. My research maps the relationship between sexuality, gender, diversity, and the ways in which multiple forms of vulnerability compete for legitimacy in key political moments. I have also published on academic labour and neoliberalism in higher education. I am a trained secondary school teacher (English and History) with experience in curriculum and unit development. More recently, I co-developed a transdisciplinary social technologies sub-major for undergraduate students as part of a 21C Flagship Curriculum Project at Western Sydney U. Previously, I worked on projects in the areas of teacher professional development, the Quality Teaching Framework, and educational reform in Australia; neoliberalism and academic subjectivity; gender, technology, and safety in urban spaces; student educational and career aspirations from different socio-economic backgrounds; gender equity and retention in pre-service teacher education; and LGBTQI+ youth and mental health.
