About Daniel Pérez Lozano

I currently work as a quantum engineer on the fabrication of superconducting qubits. I am focused on material and processes development to make superconducting qubit fabrication compatible with modern industrial fabrication techniques. I also research new materials to boost the life and performance of qubits, and have experience in the development of 3D integration technologies and 3D packaging.I am very passionate about physics, specially quantum physics and how it can be used to develop disruptive technologies. While science and research have been my passion for the last years I am open about new challenges where I can use my knowledge and expertise to develop new technologies.

    My research project was framed in OpenSuperQ: A Quantum Computer for Europe. The aim of this project is to build a Quantum Computer with up to 100 qubits using superconducting qubit technology. Withing the project I was encharged of device fabrication and testing, as well as materials development. I aslo actively participated in the development of 3D integration technologies such as superconducting through silicon vias and flip chip bonding.

During my PhD I was able to determine how the superconducting properties of nanoscale superconductors change as a function of their size and to reveal the mechanisms responsible for these changes.
