About Daniel Pieroni
I'd like to think of myself as a well-rounded individual who is an effective communicator, and who's dependable and hard working.I obtained my Bachelors degree from Curry College in 2007, while there, I was heavily involved in radio broadcasting, During my senior year, I co-created and hosted a popular afternoon drive program that gained notoriety for being honest and unpredictable.From Curry, I went on to the University of Rhode Island, where I received my Masters in Communication Studies in 2011. I also dabbled in education courses during my time there.I'm also an accomplished sports writer, who has written for both his own blog and Bleacher Report.While broadcasting and writing remain my true passions, I have spent the last 5 years as part of a traveling student panel that is comprised of Rhode Island area students who are disabled, and have successfully navigated college life. We travel all around the state giving speeches to local high school students with IEP's, in an effort to inspire them follow our example and succeed in post-secondary academia in spite of their handicaps.From this work, I have been privileged enough to have served as the keynote speaker for the Rhode Island college forum for the past 2 years.I strongly believe that anyone with a disability, can succeed in college, and that there should be someone on a college campus who can help students achieve this goal, whether it be a disability service counselor, or an admissions counselor who deals directly with the disabled population.In addition I work as a substitute teacher in the town of Scituate for the past several years, and serve on both the Rhode Island Council for Assistive Technology and the state Rehabilitation Council.I am looking to connect with professional who are passionate about their work, particularly folks who work with the disabled population on a college campus, and I welcome anyone to contact me if they feel I can help their business.
