I have a wide variety of professional interests and experience in a number of different fields. Perhaps best exemplified by my four undergraduate majors, I do not like to restrict myself to one mode of thought or set of tools. Throughout my educational career, as well as while working the projects I have undertaken afterward, I excel at integrating mathematical analysis and a deep understanding of physics to engineering design.Currently, I am a private tutor in physics and mathematics for students at the university level. I have experience teaching students from the front of a classroom, in small groups, and in individual settings. My students in all cases benefit from my ability to explain concepts from multiple different approaches and communicate ideas clearly to them.In my spare time, I work on several projects from multiple fields, in order to sharpen my skills and learn new ones. Currently, I’m working on building a small scale particle accelerator in order to take x-ray photographs, and designing and building a chorus pedal for an electric guitar. Other projects I’ve completed include an app created to autonomously summarize Google Spreadsheets data via Facebook posts, an SDL based multi-pattern metronome, a series of heuristics and measures to help predict the output of my homebrewed beers, and a SQL based prototype app bringing social networking to movie watching. When I'm not building something, I'm learning how to build it. I hope to channel my enthusiasm for learning, building, and modeling into a productive career designing new and better things.
