On a day to day basis I run one of the multitude of stores that Coughlans has around Surrey and the London area as well as to increase sales beating our year on year average and targets said from Head Office. One of my other day to day tasks is to keep the store a clean and tidy environment for the staff working there as well as for the customers that we serve in regulation with the Food Standards Agency. This means that I have to manage my day so that all cleaning tasks are completed by myself and my staff. I am also responsible for making sure that all stock is rotated, counted and ordered correctly so that our team in Head Office know what to send us on a daily and weekly basis. These counts also include a weekly stock check on items that we do not report daily on such as Gateuax's and storage items.

My role as a Product Executive for the Special Groups division of the Product Team is the creation of itineraries for our B2B cruise partners as well as design itineraries for new destinations as well as specialised touring including wildlife, train journeys as well as food and drink, for example. When building the new itineraries we use Microsoft Word to write them up in a 3rd person format including the majority of details that will happen on a day to day basis including their included meals and hotels. As we deal with suppliers from various countries we use an excel spreadsheet to covert the costs for the trip depending on the amount of people that we are quoting for. Once the trip is confirmed we send the itinerary over to out local partners to check and give us specific details that we did not include before. During the research of new destinations I have to look at the variety of tours offered by direct competitors and try to identify the trend of locations visited as well as identifying if there is a locations that are not visited by group tours but could offer a gap in the market that would make our trip stand out. During this I help to research partners to work with in country making sure that they meet the needs of our customers during a face to face or video call as well as giving them a mock itinerary with certain requirements. Another part of my role is to help build on the partnerships that we have with out B2B clients by answering their email requests promptly and distributing them to other members of the team depending on our workload as well as going to visit them with my team leader.

My role as a Travel Specialist is the creation of high quality tailor made holidays to Latin America as well as to maintain the high standards of the ever-growing business be it in store as well as when I represent Latin Routes at travel shows such as Destinations. During the booking process, we are in contact with the appointed representative from the DMC for the country that our client is looking to visit to check for the availability for any product we looking to get quoted especially when it is a trip leaving in the near future. This means that every time we speak to them we are helping to maintain our relationship as well as building upon it to make sure that we are able to get the most preferential rates for our clients. Another big part of my role is checking the invoices that are both sent to our clients and that which we receive as confirmation from our DMC’s just incase there are any discrepancies i.e they have sent us back the quote for the wrong month or have gone to confirm an incorrect service. This is a big part of my day to day work meaning that I have had to make sure I have a good structure in place so that I can have a dedicated Admin hour as well as organising in my email inbox to have dedicated folders for each client.

As a Travel Expert working within the Clapham Office, my role is to assist clients in realising their dream holiday. This involved understanding the clients precise holiday needs to ensure the ideal package is put together which exceeds their travel expectations, but still fits within their budget requirements. This approach has ensured that I regularly exceed my monthly sales targets and KPI’s.By growing strong working relationships with representatives of Key Suppliers, I have gained a variety of critical sales knowledge of the different stay properties throughout the world and the key points of what each one includes and the benefits of these to our clients.

I joined the Snow and Rock team in Croydon as a sales assistant on a fixed term contract, which opened up the opportunity to work in both their flagship store in Covent Garden and the concession store inside Harrods. These positions taught me the ability to provide first class customer care to a variety of customer bases as well as strong product knowledge and demonstrate different strengths and weaknesses of summer and winter clothing.
