Daniel is an experienced social researcher with a particular focus on health and a keen interest in behaviour change, social marketing, emergency management, innovation and technology, and electoral affairs.Since 2013, Daniel has been co-Director of Healthcare & Insurance Australia an ongoing consumer behaviour and perception monitor which investigates many aspects of the Australian health system – from community expectations of the public and private hospital systems to detailed forecasting of government policy initiatives (for more information on the study see http://hcia.ipsossurveys.com.au/Home). Daniel has directed many studies in the health space for a range of clients including health departments (federal, state, and territory), numerous private health insurance funds, and industry bodies/association. This research has covered topics such as patient experience of public mental health services, product development of private health insurance products, and evaluation of the effectiveness of clinical supervision skills training.Daniel combines subject matter expertise with a comprehensive background in the complexities of data collection. Daniel joined the Ipsos Public Affairs team from I-view (our dedicated fieldwork arm) where he managed data collection for large and complex social research studies – an experience which gave him a detailed understanding of the possibilities and limitations of primary data collection. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) from Deakin University, is a commanding presence in any room, and writes his own bios.
